Reading the public server list...

Everything on one screen

Country VPN

Pick a country, see every known server in it and connect with one tap. The VPN engine is built into the app, so there is no second app to install.

Automatic failover

A server that refuses the login, times out or does not answer is skipped automatically and kept out of view for a while.

Live speed

See the download and upload speed and the ping the server reports in the server details. Ping and speed from relays are shown as reported.

DNS modes

AdBlocker, Family Protection or Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 from the mode selector on Home, with backup providers and optional encrypted DNS. Filtering is best effort.

Pixel Hosts

Map a host name to an IP address for compatible apps through a local DNS-only VPN. Your rules stay on your phone.

Choose the apps

Send every app through the VPN, only the apps you tick, or every app except the ones you tick.

Kill switch guide

Step-by-step help to turn on Android's Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN, plus a read-only check of what Android reports.

Updates you control

Check for a new version when you tap the button, or switch on a check at start. Every release comes with a SHA-256 file to check the download.

VPN Server Feeds

Loading server activity...

Each update shows a server being added to or removed from our shared server list. Added means the server newly appeared on the public list. Removed means it has been missing for about 45 minutes. The feed replays recent activity in a loop; it is not a live stream.

Addresses come from the public server list and belong to volunteer-run servers, not to visitors of this page or users of the app. The totals at the top reflect what that list shows right now. Servers come and go, and a listed server is not guaranteed to work.

Download for Android

VPN engine: ics-openvpn (OpenVPN for Android)

Good to know

The app does not make you anonymous: the relays are public servers run by volunteers. Ping and speed are what the server list reports. The and the are inside the app (More > Legal) and can be read here too.

VPN engine and trademarks

The connection is made by the VPN engine built into the app: ics-openvpn, also known as OpenVPN for Android, a free-software client for the OpenVPN protocol. It is licensed under the GPL v2 with additional terms.

OpenVPN is a trademark of OpenVPN Inc. DeadPixel VPN is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenVPN Inc. or the ics-openvpn project.

Licence and source code

DeadPixel VPN is free software: the app (the APK) is released under the GNU General Public License version 2, because the VPN engine inside it is GPL. DeadPixel's own source files are also available under the LGPL v2.1 or later.

Written offer: the source code is not published in an open repository. Anyone who has received the app can get the complete source code of their version, free of charge: write to DeadPixel on Discord, name the version number, and say how to reach you. This offer is valid for at least three years after each version was published.
